Dr. Michael Schneider, Associate Professor with the University of Pittsburgh talks about the latest research in the most effective forms of spine care.

Dr. Michael Schneider received his DC degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1982 and his PhD in rehabilitation science from the University of Pittsburgh in 2008. He has been working at the University of Pittsburgh fulltime since 2009 as an Associate Professor, with appointments in the Department of Physical Therapy and the Clinical and Translational Science Institute. Dr. Schneider has received several federal research grants from both the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). He is the author of over 75 peer-reviewed publications, including articles published in high impact journals such as Spine, The Spine Journal and JAMA Network Open. Dr. Schneider practiced chiropractic for over 25 years before his transition into his current career as a fulltime academic and researcher. This unique blend of clinical, academic and research experience allows him to present complex information to a wide variety of audiences.

Spine specialist, Dr. Edward Hutter shares his personal story of being the patient.

Dr. Hutter graduated in 1984 from the University of Bridgeport with B.S. Degrees in Biology and Human Biology. He received his Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine (D.C.) degree from the National College of Chiropractic and successfully passed his national board exams in 1988. After completing his 12-month internship, Dr. Hutter continued to perfect his technique and expand his knowledge with clinical experience before opening his Mystic, Connecticut practice in 1990.

Board Certified in Orthopedics, Dr. Hutter is one of only several chiropractors in Connecticut trained in Cox/Flexion-Distraction Technique for closed disc reduction, an effective non-surgical treatment for lumbar disc injuries.

As an active Holistic Health educator and advocate, Dr. Taylor has developed a Road to Wellness lecture series for the public including: Back to Basics, Meditation Clinic, Nutrition and Pain Control, Boosting Your Immune System Naturally, Exercise Ball Workshop, Back Tips for People Who Sit, Back Injury Prevention, and Maximize Your Health Potential.

Dr. Taylor served as the treasurer for the New York State Chiropractic Association (District 9) from 2002-2005. She also served as the senior editor of New Windsor Health Online, a free local online health and news magazine serving residents living in New Windsor, NY and the surrounding areas.

On this episode, spine specialist Dr. Kevin Keyes shares a story of a 68 y.o. woman who sought his help after having two spine surgeries.

Dr. Kevin Keyes began his undergraduate studies at the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. He completed his chiropractic schooling in 1998 at the University of National Health Sciences in Chicago, Illinois. He was honored with the National Dean’s List Award upon graduating chiropractic school.

Dr. Keyes began practicing at Sadler Clinic in The Woodlands/Conroe area and built a sound reputation working alongside neurosurgeons, orthopedic surgeons, pain management specialists, internists and family practice physicians. He was the first chiropractor to bring the Cox Technic spinal decompression method and the 8 Weeks to Wellness program to our community. Dr. Keyes was named one of Houston’s Top Chiropractors in 2008 and 2009. He is a lifetime learner and continually seeks to bring the newest information to his patients. He founded Woodlands Family Chiropractic in 2012 and in 2016 co-founded Vital Health Protocols, a program designed to teach other doctors emerging practices in functional medicine and functional nutrition. Dr. Keyes’ biggest joy in life is his family (wife Michelle and children, Carson & Isabella).

Dr. George Joachim attended Ohio State University and completed his Doctoral work at the National College in Chicago. He completed his hospital rotation at Edgewater Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Joachim is Board Certified in Rehabilitation. He is a past President of the Northeast Indiana Chiropractic Association. Dr Joachim has lectured nationally and internationally on the conservative treatments for low back and neck pain. He is part of the post graduate faculty at the National University of Health Science. His personal background involves a strong athletic career as a collegiate “Big 10” competitor, to more recently, a Bronze medal winning United States National Bobsled athlete.

Dr. C. Michael DuPriest discusses his experience in treating spine patients within the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System.

Dr Michael DuPriest is both a doctor of chiropractic and doctor of physical therapy holding active licenses in the state of Arkansas. He is also a Fellow of the Academy of Chiropractic Orthopedist with completion of his diplomate in 2003. He is certified in Cox F/D for cervical, thoracic, and lumbar region. Prior to receiving his appointment with Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System he was in the private sector for 26 years, initially as a solo practitioner, followed by being an associate provider with  Arkansas Family Care Network, the latter a large multidisciplinary medical network.  He is married with two adult children, was active in ultradistance trail running for 15 years (now runs/walks for fitness), and enjoys hiking, camping, and foreign travel.

She is certified in Cox flexion distraction, SFMA, McKenzie, DNS as well as board-certified in acupuncture. In addition to teaching our student doctors in the Montgomery health center, Dr. Estrada is an assistant instructor in Cox flexion distraction and laboratory diagnosis.
