Dr. Bret White is this episode’s Back Doctor. Today, Dr. White shares an interesting story of a patient with neck pain, arm pain, and breast pain.
Dr. White graduated in 1995 from the New York Chiropractic College, where he accepted a 1 year faculty appointment in the Clinical Sciences Dept. In 1996 Dr. White relocated to Boston where he practiced for nearly 10 years. During this time he was the team chiropractor for the New England Storm and Bay State Warriors, and provided care to athletes at the Bay State Games, Gravity Games, and Boston Marathon, among other sporting events. From 2001 to 2003, he had the pleasure of providing backstage chiropractic care for “Contact”, a Broadway Musical Production during the Boston performances of their National Tour.
He owned and operated his own Family and Sports practice and also was invited to provide chiropractic care for the patients of a group of Family Medicine Physicians in nearby Arlington. In addition to seeing patients at the clinic, he had the unique opportunity to teach the principles and practices of Chiropractic to Nursing Students as well as 3rd & 4th Year Medical Students from Tufts, Harvard, UMASS and Boston University, during their Family Medicine rotations. Dr. White taught Anatomy & Kinesiology for 5 years as an adjunct faculty member for the Muscular Therapy Institute (now Cortiva Institute). He was honored to be the first Chiropractor to be appointed as a Clinical Instructor for the prestigious Tufts University School of Medicine in the Department of Public Health & Family Medicine. He continues to give health related presentations on the radio and for organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce. Dr. White relocated to the Treasure Coast in 2006, initially practicing in West Palm Beach and Port St. Lucie, before finding his “true home” in Vero Beach. Dr. White has been the Team Chiropractor for American Top Team in Port St. Lucie and Vero Beach since 2009, and has treated many Amateur and Professional Fighters including UFC, WEC, M-1 Global, and Bellator Fighters and Champions. Some of his fighters include Luigi Fioravanti, Jeff Monson, Brad Pickett, Kenny Deuce Garner, Daniel Straus, Ailton Barbosa, Ricardo Tirloni, TJ Cook, Jeremy May, Charles Rosa, and Mario Rinaldi. Dr. White has also treated World Champion Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Competitors including Renato Tavares, Denilson Pimenta, Italo Lins, Suyan Quieroz, and Vitor Toledo. He is currently the Chiropractor for the National Volleyball League, a Professional Beach Volleyball league; and the NVL Rize, a group of young Olympic and Professional hopefuls that train at the Club Med Academies in Port St. Lucie. |
Dr. White enjoys working with athletes of all levels and all sports. He continues to treat a wide variety of people, ranging from young children to individuals in their 80’s and 90’s; from elite and professional athletes, to the non-athletic alike. Dr. White enjoys spending his free time with his wife and 3 children, and sneaking in a round of golf when possible.
