Spine specialist, Dr. Adam Palmer and his patient share her story of how she was successfully treated for her back pain during pregnancy.

Dr. Palmer is a 1997 graduate of New York Chiropractic College. He is board certified by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners and the Virginia Medical Board. He began practice in Altavista, Virginia in 1998.

Dr. Palmer has a special interest in treating whiplash, disc conditions, spinal arthritic pain, and headaches. He has been certified and using Cox Distraction Technique since 1997 which is used to treat disc bulges and some spinal degenerative related conditions.

Dr. McGinnis grew up in a large Catholic family and was the youngest of six. After graduating from Sumter High School and attending Clemson University, he graduated from Life Chiropractic College in 1987. Following graduation, he joined his father in practice and formed McGinnis Chiropractic Center. Feeling the need to advance his education and clinical skills, he began a diplomate program in Orthopedics with the National University of Health Sciences which he completed in 1991.

He’s been very active in the chiropractic profession.  He have served as the delegate from South Carolina to The American Chiropractic Association since 1993. He was elected to The American Chiropractic Association’s Board of Governors. The ACA is the largest professional association in the world representing doctors of chiropractic. He is also a member of the South Carolina Chiropractic Association and currently chair the Medicare and Hospital Relations committees. He has also been honored to be named as a Fellow with the International College of Chiropractors.

Mexican spine specialist, Dr. Gabriel Monterrubio talks about treating patients with ankylosing spondylitis.  A patient shares his success story.

Dr. Gabriel Monterrubio Santa María graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic, U.S.A., in 1989.

In 1997, he also received his certificate as a “Sports Medical Chiropractor”.

In the period from 2000 to 2002 he completed his master’s degree in “Organizational Human Development” at the University of Celaya.

He is an active member of the College of Chiropractic Scientific Professionals of Mexico.

He has been Vice President of the Mexican Federation of Sports Chiropractic.

He obtained the Certificate of the National University of Health Sciences on April 21, 2013, in “Techniques of Adjustment and Manipulation” from Dr. James M. Cox.

He won a recognition for his participation in September 2013 at the 15TH International interdisciplinary Chiropractic Congress.

He achieved a record of attendance at the Annual Sports Chiropractic Congress held in October 2012 by the Mexican Federation of Sports Chiropractic.

Dr. Gabriel Monterrubio is also a Chiropractic Certified Sports Physician.

In Santo Domingo, Rep. Dominican Republic in October 2009, he achieved the certificate in “Sports Medicine”, by the International Olympic Committee.

In San Juan de Puerto Rico in the year 2000, he obtained a certificate in “Technique of Dr. Cox Part 1”.

In October 2002 he received his record for participation in the “International Congress of Physical Therapy”, awarded by the National Polytechnic Institute, Academic Secretariat, Mexican Association of Physical Therapy.

Chiropractor Dr. Gabriel Monterrubio Santa María currently has 30 years of experience.

On this episode, student Casey Rogers from Keiser University College of Chiropractic Medicine shares a case of a 62 year old woman with a congenital fusion.

Casey Rogers is a student in his 8th semester at Keiser University College of Chiropractic Medicine in West Palm Beach, Florida.  Currently, he is a student intern at the Keiser University Spine Care Clinic, A Chiropractic Healthcare Facility.

Prior to his chiropractic education, he worked as a radiologic technologist for the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and attained his Bachelor of Science and Associate of Science degrees from Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania.  As well, he attended the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine for a year of Post-Baccalaureate studies.

At Keiser, Casey served as the President of the school’s inaugural chapter of the Student American Chiropractic Association and currently serves as student representative of the Research and Curriculum Committees.

When not in class, he enjoys time at the beach, fishing, hunting, and the great outdoors.  Casey also is an avid hockey fan and can found cheering on the Pittsburgh Penguins.

After graduation, he intends on applying to a chiropractic residency or fellowship where he can continue to utilize Cox Technic and further research.

Wyoming spine specialist, Dr. Dean Lehmkuhler shares his success integrating Cox Technic into his Spine+Fit System for maximizing patient outcomes.

Dr. Dean Lehmkuhler D.C. was born and raised in Western Nebraska. Travel throughout childhood took him across the country with his father, a PRCA rodeo clown and bullfighter, Butch Lehmkuhler.  During those travels, he witnessed first hand the remarkable abilities of the human body to heal and repair itself in the very high stress environment of professional rodeo.  After graduating from North Platte High School, he attended the University of North Dakota and then Drury University on an athletic scholarship.  While at Drury, he captured three NCAA-II 1 meter Springboard individual national championships and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Exercise Science.  He attended Northwestern College of Chiropractic and graduated Summa Cum Laude before moving to Wyoming where he has practiced since 2004.

Outside of the office, Dr. Lehmkuhler can be found pursuing archery, running, and kettlebell training.  His background in competitive golf, tennis, diving, Ironman triathlon, Olympic weightlifting, and running marathons on roads and trails gives him a well rounded view of sport performance and injuries that helps him manage these patients at Spine+Fit.

His professional focus has always centered around a combined effort of patient education, effective treatment, exercise, and rehabilitation of the human spine.  The Spine+Fit System is the culmination of many years of specialized post graduate training, personal interest, and extensive experience in non surgical and non drug management of back conditions.

Spine specialist, Dr. Hrefna Sylvia from Iceland shares two patient success stories using Cox® Technic Flexion Distraction Manipulation.  The first story involves a 54 year old father with a disc prolapse resulting in foot drop.  The second story is an 84 year old gentleman with severe degenerative disc disease who is unable to turn his head.

Dr Hrefna Sylvia is born and raised in a small town in the Westfjords in Iceland. In 2009 while training for an Ironman she experienced severe low back pain, that is when she first got introduced to chiropractic. Her interest for chiropractic increased with time and in 2014 she moved to Georgia to study chiropractic. Dr Hrefna Sylvia graduated as a Doctor of Chiropractor from Life University in Atlanta, GA in June 2018 and was awarded the Clinic Excellence award at graduation. During her studies she went as a volunteer to Haiti where she treated both children and adults of all ages. She also went as a volunteer to Eugene, Oregon to help out in the medical tent during the track and field tryouts for the Olympics in Rio 2016. Dr Hrefna Sylvia specializes in the Cox technic as well as the Gonstead technique. She is the only fully certified chiropractor in the Cox technique in Iceland.

Dr. Jeremy Heidt is Certified in Cox Decompression Adjustment and Manipulation Technic. This is a gentle technique used for treating many spinal conditions ranging from mild Low Back Pain to more severe cases of Back and Neck Pain such as Disc Herniations, Spinal Stenosis, along with many more conditions. Only 5-10% of chiropractors have completed the training to become certified in this technique. Dr. Jeremy has attended hands on training with certified doctors and most recently attended an Honor’s Seminar in Philadelphia with the goal of bringing his patient’s expert spinal care.
