On this episode, Dr. Bartley shares two stories with us.  The first story is of a patient who has scoliosis and a bad disc resulting in severe back pain.   The second story is a 28 yr. old construction worker with drop foot.

Dr. Bartley graduated from Indiana University with an Athletic Training and Sports Medicine degree and after interning with the New England Patriots entered Logan University. He has been practicing in Jasper, IN since 1990 and is certified in Cox® Technic of the Cervical and Lumbar spines, and has Full Body, Biomechanics and Long Nerve Entrapment certifications in Active Release Technique (ART). He is an avid triathlete and has completed the Boston Marathon.

Listen as this week’s Back Doctor, Dr. Shay Corbin helps a professional jazz musician with neck and arm pain to play his saxophone again and complete his Australian tour.

Dr. Shay Corbin runs the Spine and Sports Rehab Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  Dr. Corbin was the PGA Tour Chiropractor, from 2004 to 2007 traveling to tour events around the nation working with the world’s best golfers treating for all injury types, assisting with their rehab and prevention of injuries as well as preparing them for daily tournament play. Dr. Corbin is contracted for LSU athletics to travel and treat athletes on and off-season for injuries and to help get ready for competition.

This episode’s “Back Doctor” is Dr. Lee Hazen.  Dr. Hazen shares a story of a 59 year old man with 30 years of back pain even after having back surgery.  But…there’s hope.

Dr. Hazen graduated Cum Laude from Cleveland Chiropractic College of Los Angeles in 1989.   After a short post-ceptorship in Burbank, Ca, he was invited to become a resident in Dr. James Cox’s clinic.  From 1989 until 1998 he was co-director and resident in Ft. Wayne Indiana with Dr. Cox.  While there, he attended and completed a 400 hour post-graduate Chiropractic Orthopedics training sponsored by National University of Health Sciences.  Dr. Hazen has been serving the Murrieta-Temecula area for 15 years. As a Cox Technique instructor for the past 18 years he has taught many chiropractors across the country the use of the specialized decompression table, diagnosis and care of spinal disease.  Currently he is on the post graduate faculty of National University of Health Sciences.

This episode’s Back Doctor is Dr. George Joachim.  Dr. Joachim shares a story of a dual sport high school athlete with a back injury.

Dr. Joachim attended Ohio State University and completed his Doctoral work at the National College in Chicago. He completed his hospital rotation at Edgewater Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Joachim is Board Certified in Rehabilitation. He is a past President of the Northeast Indiana Chiropractic Association. Dr Joachim has lectured nationally and internationally on the conservative treatments for low back and neck pain. He is part of the post graduate faculty at the National University of Health Science. His personal background involves a strong athletic career as a collegiate “Big 10” competitor, to more recently, a Bronze medal winning United States National Bobsled athlete.

Dr Widmer is a 1977 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport Iowa.  He completed his Diplomate in Chiropractic Orthopedics from National College of Chiropractic in Chicago and is  Certified in the Cox® Technic .  Dr. Widmer is presently a student in the Masters of Science program at the University of Edinburgh school of Medicine and Veterinary Science.  He practiced for 36 years in Lancaster, Pennsylvania before relocating to his present practice with the Connerly Physical Medicine Group in Santa Fe, New Mexico specializing in the conservative, non-surgical treatment of cervical and lumbar disc syndromes and the conservative management of headache.

On this episode, Dr. Mike Poulin discusses a variety of cervical spine cases, from the common complaint of headache to an extreme case of post surgical continued pain syndrome from a multi-level neck surgery.

Dr. Mike Poulin is a certified Cox® Technic chiropractor and a hands-on workshop instructor for Cox® Technic at his offices for chiropractors wanting to increase their knowledge of treating patients with the Cox® table/instrument.  He has written several case reports for the monthly Cox® Technic case report publication and shares cases at Cox® Seminars on a regular basis.  Dr. Poulin attends Cox® Seminars to continue his post graduate education.  He has been treating chronic and difficult spinal conditions since 1992, with over 24 year’s experience.  He is certified in Cox® Lumbar Spine Decompression since 2002 and certified in Cox® Cervical Spine Decompression since 2016.  He has two private practices in Herndon, Virginia and Ashburn, Virginia, 20 minutes west of Washington D.C.  Dr. Poulin has been happily married since 1990 and has 4 children.
